The Rev. Heuter Baltron Rolle was born on September 15, 1960, in Mt. Thompson, on the beautiful island of Exuma. He is the fourth of seven children born to the late Rev. Allan Rolle and Sarah J. Rolle.
His educational pursuits began at the Mt. Thompson all-age School and the Government High School.
Fresh out of High School, he entered the employment scene with the Department of Immigration where he served as an Immigration Officer. This was short-lived as he was determined to follow his passion; hence, he enrolled in Flight School and became a certified Flight Instructor. This was the beginning of a long, distinguished and trend-setting career in the aviation industry in the Bahamas.
Sky Unlimited started as a Charter Company but after a few short years, due to the visionary leadership of this President and owner, it soon evolved into what is known today as SkyBahamas. This company is the brainchild of The Rev. Heuter B. Rolle.
Having been reared by Christian parents who were active in their church and surrounded by extended family members who were demonstrative in their faith, Heuter came to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour in January 1979 while attending a Crusade sponsored by The Bahamas National Baptist Missionary & Educational Convention. The sermon on the occasion was preached by Pastor, The Rev. Dr. C. W. Saunders, who spoke on the topic, “Seven Cups in God’s cupboard”. He was convicted by the Holy Spirit of his need of a Saviour, and that night, he made Jesus the Lord of his life.
Over the years, Heuter has been fully nurtured and immersed in the various ministries here in Salem, having served as Associate Minister, Praise & Worship Leader, Counseling, Evangelism & Outreach Ministries as well as Minister of Youth. He served as Youth President of the New Providence District Convention and on a national level; he currently serves as Director of the Young Adults Group of the Bahamas National Baptist Missionary & Educational Convention.
The Lord moved on the hearts of Garth and Heuter early in their Christian walk, to study the Word of God every Saturday afternoon, so as to make a meaningful contribution in Sunday School the following day. This led to their appointment as Sunday School Teachers. Additionally, Heuter served as First Vice President of the Bahamas Baptist Union’s Youth Department. Through these various ministry opportunities, God used him to expand His kingdom agenda as many souls were impacted from Grand Bahama in the north to Long Island in the south.
The Rev. Dr. C. W. Saunders was in attendance at many of these family island services and it was during those times that he was able to observe and recognize the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the lives of Gregory Bethel, Stephen Duncombe, and Garth & Heuter Rolle; thus, following a vision under an almond tree in Long Island, he decided to appoint these young men as Junior Ministers of Salem Union Baptist Church. Minister Heuter was ordained to the sacred Gospel Ministry by the Salem Union Baptist Church on Sunday, July 6, 2008.
During his tenure as Junior Minister, many members of Salem recognized God’s anointing upon him as he would lead in worship and preach/teach the Word of God, but he was not convinced of the call to the pastorate. It was his strong belief that God had called him to the business world and that he would use that avenue to be a blessing to the Body of Christ.
On a Sunday morning, as Rev. Heuter sat on the front row of the middle isle during a Communion Service, as the choir was singing the song, “When I Survey The Wondrous Cross,” that something happened within him. He vividly recalls that it was the last verse that spoke to him as if God himself was speaking to him audibly. The verse says, “Were the whole realm of nature mine that were a present far too small. Love so amazing so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.” He knew then that God was saying something specifically to him. There was no business endeavor that could be that important to keep him from totally surrendering to His service, whenever or wherever He so desired. That the love of God demonstrated through His Son Jesus, demands that he give up all for His service.
That Sunday morning changed his perspective and he said yes to His will, yes to His way, wherever He would desire to have him to minister, he was willing to do. This led him to pursue further studies in theology at Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando, where he finally completed a Masters of divinity Degree in Biblical Studies in May, 2012.
On Wednesday, December 12, 2012, after a season of prayer and fasting, the Rev. Heuter B. Rolle was elected Pastor of the Salem Union Baptist Church, to succeed the Rev. Dr. Charles W. Saunders.
Rev. Heuter is married to Prescola C. Rolle (nee Miller) and they are the proud parents of Krishna and Darrow.
His hobbies include playing pickup basketball games and reading. Watching any number of sporting events is his favorite past time interests.
