N O T I C E TO MEMBERS OF SALEM UNION BAPTIST CHURCH
Wednesday, March 18, 2020
Today, our Prime Minister, The Most Hon. Dr. Hubert A. Minnis, issued a Proclamation of Emergency effective today, March 18, 2020, to minimize, as much as possible, the spread of this deadly virus, COVID 19.
Salemites are asked to:
-Follow the notices from the Ministry of Health and Office of the Prime Minister regarding hygiene, use of public transportation, gatherings of people, social distancing, travel, purchasing food and supplies, etc.
If you are not well, do NOT leave home and isolate yourself from family members and loved ones at home…especially the elderly (people over the age of 65) and those with preexisting health issues (high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc).
It is important that if you think you are experiencing serious symptoms of COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) i.e., a bad cough, a high fever, headache, weakness and severe difficulty breathing and need to visit a clinic or doctor’s office, CALL before you go, so as not to put others at risk of becoming infected.
Call your doctor’s office or the Ministry of Health’s 24-hour Hotline at 376-9350 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. and 376-9387 between 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. This Hotline is manned by health care professionals. Follow their instructions. Only very severe cases will be admitted to the special unit at Doctor’s Hospital West.
-Help to position our church to show the love of Christ and share the message of Christ to those in need with your tithes, offerings, donations and other forms of giving:
Hebrews 6:10-11 New International Version – UK (NIVUK)
God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end.
Hebrews 13:6, 8, 16 New International Version – UK (NIVUK)
So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid’… Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever…And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
